Working in Europe ? European Traineeship for Vocational Students

 

 

Resumo: 

A área da Hospitalidade é uma área em que o peso internacional é muito grande, não só quotidiana como estrategicamente. A qualificação da mão-de-obra deste sector é rotulada de vital para o crescimento do serviço prestado, pelo que merece nota de destaque no PENT – Plano Estratégico Nacional do Turismo. Nesse sentido, é muito importante proporcionar experiências internacionais aos nossos alunos, pelo que optamos por um dos países que mais recebe turistas a nível europeu, cujo serviço gastronómico e turístico é reconhecido, para que os alunos possam recolher ensinamentos aplicáveis à sua realidade e que os possam replicar quando voltarem.

Foi assim elaborado este projeto para realização de um estágio curricular, em San Sebastian, País Basco, Espanha, de seis alunos dos cursos de Restauração – Cozinha/Pastelaria, durante o período de dois meses, acompanhados de um professor.

Project summary

Hospitality is an area where international influence is crucial, not only operational but  strategical as well. Our students are placed into various hotels and restaurants companies, at the touristic region of Lisbon and Tagus Valley, the largest one in Portugal, but also at other national tourist regions. The supply of skilled manpower in this sector is labeled to be vital for the growth of the service provided. So, besides the technical and linguistic burdens of the course itself, it is very important to provide international experience to our students. We chose one of the world’s capitals of Gastronomy, so that students can collect lessons applicable to their reality and incorporate them into their learning activity, setting an example for colleagues when they return, as well as an undeniable asset to start their professional career.
